The History of Café Willensauna
Café Willensauna is both brand new and deeply rooted in history: the very same location once housed Finland’s first theatre restaurant. When the Finnish National Theatre’s Small Stage opened in autumn 1954, a new and modern Restaurant Teatterigrilli was launched at the same time. Among other things, the restaurant used Kaj Franck’s Kilta series faience tableware – and it is even said to have been home to Finland’s very first espresso machine.
