Sound Technician, come work with us!
We are seeking a Sound Technician for a fixed-term position at the Finnish National Theatre from 3 August 2026 to 13 May 2027.
We offer an inspiring working environment where you will become part of an artistically ambitious and socially impactful theatre. Each year we produce several world premieres, and our theatre also regularly hosts visiting productions from Finland and around the world.
As a Sound Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and dismantling sound systems for performances and rehearsals. Your duties include ensuring the functionality of wireless microphones and fitting them to performers. You will take part in maintaining the sound equipment and, when necessary, carry out equipment servicing. You may also be responsible for running and mixing sound during performances as required.
Success in this role requires the ability to work constructively with a wide range of people, a self-directed working approach, and the ability to perform under pressure in changing situations.
Applicants are expected to have relevant training or sufficient professional experience in the field, as well as knowledge of sound equipment and software.
The working week is primarily six days and includes evening work. Working hours are generally scheduled between Monday and Saturday, from 9.00 am to 11.00 pm.
Salary is based on the collective agreement for the technical staff of the Finnish National Theatre. The minimum basic monthly salary for the position is €2,284.36. The final salary will be determined according to the applicant’s work experience and any supplements paid under the collective agreement, such as evening, night and overtime allowances, as well as any other applicable additions. A five-month probationary period applies. The fixed-term nature of the position is due to a seasonal need for additional support.
We value diversity within our staff and encourage people of different ages, genders and minority backgrounds to apply for the position.
